Hannah (Ann) Bolton

Hannah was born at Warwick, in 1769. In August 1787, she was convicted of burglary at Warwick and was sentenced to seven years transportation. She arrived on the Lady Juliana.  In August 1790, she was sent to Norfolk Island on the Surprize.

Hannah married John Herbert a convict who arrived on the Scarborough.  He was convicted at the Old Bailey in 1784 of stealing a silk handkerchief.   John was also sent to Norfolk Island, where he was given a grant of land, which by 1794 was producing enough grain to be sold to the government stores.
