Elizabeth arrived on Lady Penrhyn.   Thomas held land at Parramatta, Northern Boundary and Mulgrave Place (Caddai).  Children: William B 1790, Elizabeth 1792, Mary 1794, Sarah 1796,

BISHOP, Thomas - Private, Royal Marines. Died 1793 Sydney.

BROWNING, William - b1758.  Pte - Royal Marines. Cohabited with Mary Piles. Mary arrived as a convict on the Lady Penrhyn. William held 50 acres of land at Seven Hills. Child: Francis 1794.

BRUCE, William - Ship's cook. Left the colony in 1788 - transferred to the Alexander when the Friendship was scuttled.

CLARK, Ralph - 1755-1794 West Indies. 2nd Lieut, Royal Marines. Married Elizabeth Alicia Travan in England. Cohabited with Mary Branham. Mary arrived as a convict on the Lady Penrhyn. Returned to England.

CUSLEY, Benjamin - 1762 Kettering, Northamptonshire - 1845 Wilberforce. Parents; John and Ann Parker. Occ: Shoemaker/Soldier. Private, Royal Marines. Married Phoebe Francis Penlarick in 1795 St Johns Parramatta. Child Ann b1792 - 1822, Maria 1793 - 1878. Married Mary (Baker)Chadderton in 1824 at St Matthews, Windsor.

DEMPSEY, William - 1757-1837 Tasmania. Pte, Royal Marines. Occ: Shoemaker/Soldier. Married Jane Tyler in 1794 on Norfolk Island. Jane was a convict on the Lady Juliana 1790.|
Sent to Van Dieman's Land.

DUHEG, Cornelius - Seaman. Left the colony on the Friendship. Transferred to Alexander.

DUKES, Richard - Pte, Royal Marines, died 1789, executed for stealing. 

ELLIS, William - Pte, Royal Marines. b1750c. Cohabited with Elizabeth Cole, who was a convict arriving on the Charlotte in 1788. Returned to England. 

FADDY, William -  2nd Lieut, Royal Marines. Married Martha Escott Johnson in England, in 1784.  Died in 1799 at the Battle of the Nile.

FOLLY, John - 1749-1830 Hobart. Pte, Royal Marines. Cohabited with Catherine Heyland, a convict who arrived on the Lady Juliana.  Children: John 1792, James 1795.   He and his wife and family left Norfolk Island for Tasmania.

GRANT, James - Pte, Royal Marines. Discharged from NSW Corps in 1797.
 Dishcharged his weapon in a man's face, during a duel to defend his honour. Married Nancy Yeats.

GREEN, Charles - Pte, Royal Marines. Died circa 1799. Cohabited with Margaret Darnell, who was a convict on the Prince of Wales, 1788.  Charles enlisted in the NSW Corps.

GRIFFITHS, John - 1758-1844 Hobart. Pte, Royal Marines. Occ: Carpenter/Sawyer. Married Jane Thompson in 1791 on Norfolk Island. Married Bridget Ann Holland in 1819 at Castlereagh.

HAWK, John - Seaman. Died 1788 on board the Alexander.

HERN/HEARN, William - Ship's Steward. Returned to England.

JONES, Thomas - Pte, Royal Marines. Died 1789, executed for theft from the public stores.

McCARTHY, John - Pte, Royal Marines. 1758 Killarney, Co Kerry, Ireland - 1846 Victoria.  Married Ann Beardsley in 1791 on Norfolk Island. A was a convict who arrived on the Charlotte. Left Norfolk Island for Tasmania..

McDONALD, Alexander - Pte, Royal Marines. 1745-1721 Sydney(drowned). Cohabited with Mary Phillips, a convict on the Charlotte.  Married Mary Oliver in 1792 at Parramatta. 

MEREDITH, James - Capt., Royal Marines. Died 1841 Wales. Cohabited with Mary Johnson(Hughes), a convict who arrived on the Prince of Wales 1788.

NORRIS, William - Pte, Royal Marines. Cohabited with Elizabeth Clark, a convict who also arrived on the Friendship. William returned to England. .

PLOWMAN, James - 1750 Dorset - 1811 Sussex. Returned to England.

PLYER, George - Pte, Royal Marines. 1759 Gloucestershire - 1839 Hobart. Cohabited with Ann Meredith on Norfolk Island.  George held land in Tasmania.  Child Ann b1810.?

POUND, Elizabeth - came free as wife of marine John Russell. Returned to England in 1791.

ROBERTS, John - Pte, Royal Marines. Held land at Mulgrave Place.

ROWDEN, Thomas - Pte, Royal Marines. born in 1757 in Dorset. Occ: Cordwainer/ Soldier/Labourer. Held land at Mulgrave Place.

RUSSELL, John - Pte, Royal Marines. Married Elizabeth Pound in 1782 at Stoke Damerel, England. Elizabeth and their children, Mary and  Thomas travelled with John to Australia. Daughter Ann Maria born in Sydney. The family returned to England.

SANDELL, Richard - Seaman. Returned to England.

SHORTLAND, John Jnr - Second Mate, Royal Navy. 1769-1810 West Indies. Parents: John Snr and Margaret Rutherford. Received land grants at Liberty Plains and Bankstown. John returned to England.

STEPHENS, Robert - Pte, Royal Marines. Born 1762c Devon. Cohabited with Elizabeth Hippesley on Norfolk Island. Elizabeth was a convict on the Lady Penrhyn in 1788. Both Robert and Elizabeth returned to England.

THATCHER, John - Pte, Royal Marines. Returned to England.

VALLANCE, Patrick - Second Mate. 1747-1787 died at sea.

WALTON, Francis - Ship's Master. Returned to England.

WATTS, John - Pte, Royal Marines. 1763-1837 - buried St Peters Richmond. Occ: Cardmaker/Soldier, Sexton.  Cohabited with Margaret Stewart, who arrived as a convict on the Charlotte. Held land at Windsor.

WILLIAMS, Thomas - Pte, Royal Marines. 1760Cornwall - 1830, buried at St Mary's RC Church, Sydney. Parents: Thomas and Mary.  Occ: Soldier/Miller. Cohabited with Ann Davis who arrived as a convict on the Charlotte.  Ann left the colony.

YOUNG, Thomas - Pte, Royal Marines. Accompanied by wife Elizabeth and sons John and Thomas.  The family returned to England.

AYRES/HARES/EYRES, William - b1762 Staffordshire. Convicted in 1783 at Winchester for highway robbery with violence. Occ: Saddler. Married Mary Kimes (Potten) in 1790 in Sydney. Left the colony when his sentence expired.

BARNETT, Daniel - 1757 London - 1827 Pitt Town. Buried St Matthew's, Windsor. Parents: Daniel and Mary. Occ: Waterman. Convicted at Winchester in 1783 for stealing the King's property. Married Ann Baker in 1793 at Parramatta.

BATLEY,/ROUSE Walter - B1750 Norfolk. Occ: Bricklayer. Convicted Exeter in 1784 for theft of clothing. Married Martha Baker in 1788 at Sydney Cove. Martha arrived as a convict on the Lady Penrhyn in 1788. Went to Norfolk Island with Martha, but she did not remain with him. Walter settled at Liberty Plains.

BAUGHAN, John - 1756 Warwickshire - 1797 Dawes Point, Sydney. Convicted at Oxford in 1783 for theft of 4 blankets. Occ: Cabinet maker/carpenter. Married Mary Cleaver/Cleaves in 1788 in Sydney. Mary arrived on the Charlotte.  Children: Charlotte 1787 on board Charlotte d1789 Sydney Cove.

BAYLISS, John -1750 Birmingham - 1811 Sydney, buried St Phillips. Occ: Silversmith. Convicted in 1784 at the Old Bailey of theft.  Cohabited with Elizabeth Douglass, a convict who arrived on the Lady Juliana in 1790. Held 30 acres in the Hawkesbury area.

BENNETT, John - 1769-1788 Sydney Cove. Executed by hanging for theft. Convicted at Shrewsbury in 1786 of highway robbery. 

BERRY/BARRY, John - 1766-1788 Sydney. Convicted at Bristol in 1785 for theft.

BEST, John - 1754 London - 1839 Windsor, buried at St Matthews. Occ: Clerk. Convicted in 1783 at the Old Bailey of theft. Cohabited on Norfolk Island with Grace Maddocks, who arrived on the Lady Juliana 1790, as a convict. Married Rebecca Chipenham at Castlereagh in 1817. Rebecca arrived as a convict on the Neptune in 1790.In 1828 held 470 acres of land at Windsor.  Died a pauper in 1839.

BISHOP, Joseph - 1763-1825 Parramatta. Occ: Fisherman. Convicted Old Bailey in 1783 for theft of 5 handkerchiefs. Married Ann Dring in 1790.  Ann was a convict who arrived in 1790 on the Lady Juliana. Settled on 50 acres at The Ponds.

BRAND, Curtis - 1764-1800 Sydney. Convicted in 1784 at Maidstone, Kent of theft of 2 gamecocks. Married Elizabeth Sully in 1791 at Parramatta. Elizabeth arrived as a convict in 1790 on the Lady Juliana. Established a 30 acre farm at The Ponds, in Parramatta.

BRICE, William - Convicted at Bristol in 1785 of stealing a looking glass from a shop.

BRYANT, Michael b1768 Middlesex. Convicted in 1783 at the Old Bailey of receiving and pawning stolen clothing.

BURN, Patrick - Convicted at Exeter in 1783 for assault and steal on King's Highway.

BURN, Simon - 1754-1794 Parramatta. Buried St Johns. Convicted in Exeter in 1783 for highway assault and theft.

CARROLL/CARRAL (nee RANDALL), Mary - 1751 Stepney - 1803 Sydney. Parents; Benjamin and Ann. Occ: Mantau maker. Married James Carroll in 1782 in London. Convicted at the Old Bailey in 1786 for theft of a sheet and a shirt. Married John Nicholls in 1788 at Sydney Cove. John was a convict who arrived on the Scarborough.  Mary held land at Mulgrave Place.

CARTER/CARTWRIGHT, Richard - 1744 Stafford - 1792 Parramatta. Buried at St Johns. Convicted of theft at Shrewsbury in 1784.

CLARE, George - b1732 Manchester. Occ: Shoemaker. Convicted of theft at the Old Bailey in 1783. Married Catherine Smith in 1789 in Sydney. Catherine arrived as a convict on the Prince of Wales.

CLARK, Elizabeth - 1768 Ashbourne, Derby - 1816 Sydney. Convicted of theft of clothing in Derby in 1785. Cohabited with William Norris who was a Private with the Royal Marines on the Friendship.

DAVIS, Richard - Convicted in 1783 at the Old Bailey of theft of clothing. Received a 30 acre land grant at Mulgrave Place. Inmate at Sydney Benevolent Society.

DAVIS, William - 1735-1791 Parramatta. Convicted at Shrewsbury in 1784 for theft of a sheep.

DELANY, Patrick - 1753-1787 at sea. Convicted in York in 1783 of highway robbery.

DODDING/DOORER, James - 1759-1834 Hobart. Convicted at the Old Bailey in 1784 of theft. Cohabited with Elizabeth Thackery who also arrived as a convict on the Friendship.

DUDGEON/DUDGING, Elizabeth. Convicted in 1783 at the Old Bailey for stealing money. Married George Clayton in 1788 at Sydney Cove. George arrived on the Scarborough as a convict. Possibly returned to England with her husband.

EARLY/HARLEY/HURLEY, Rachel - 1762-1842 Tasmania. Convicted in 1786 at Reading of theft.  Married John Price in 1788 at Sydney Cove. John  arrived as a convict on the Alexander.
Cohabited with Samuel Marsden, a private in the NSW Corps who arrived on the Surprise in 1790.

EDWARDS, William -  Convicted of theft of clothing at Westminster in 1784.

ELLIOTT, Joseph - 1765-1836 Maitland. Occ: Carpenter. Convicted in Bristol, of stealing a tobacco pouch. Married Elizabeth Siene (Saney) in 1791 on Norfolk Island. Elizabeth arrived on the Lady Juliana in 1790, as a convict.

EVANS, Williams - 1747-1788 Port Jackson. Convicted of horse theft in 1785 at Shrewsbury.

FARLEY, William - Convicted at Bristol in 1785 of theft. Returned to England.

FIELD, William - 1761-1826 Mulgrave Place, buried at Wilberforce. Convicted in 1783, at Winchester of highway robbery. In 1790 married Elizabeth Robinson in Sydney, a convict who arrived on the Lady Juliana. William and Elizabeth separated in 1791 and Elizabeth left the colony in 1796. Cohabited with Mary Crawthorne. William left his Parramatta land grant and moved to Mulgrave Place.

FINLOW/FENDLOW/HARVEY, John - 1768-1796.  Convicted at the Old Bailey in 1783 of highway assault and robbery. Received a 30 acre land grant on the Hawkesbury River. John was hanged for murdering his servant.

FLYNN, Edward. 1771-1837. Convicted at the Old Bailey in 1784 of theft. Married Sarah Ault in 1790, at St Phillips, Sydney. Sarah arrived as a convict on the Prince of Wales,  Sarah returned to England.

JAMES, Grace - 1771-1793 Norfolk Island. Convicted at the Old Bailey in 1784 of theft.

GRANGER, Charles.  Born 1758 Devon. Convicted at theft in Plymouth.

GREEN, Hannah - Convicted a the Old Bailey in 1783 of stealing four hats. Married William Haynes in 1788 in Sydney. William was also a convict on the Friendship.

HALL, Margaret - 1763-1807 Sydney. Convicted in 1782 at the Old Bailey of theft.
Married Peter Creamer (aka Williams) on 13 February, 1788, at Sydney Cove.  Peter arrived as a convict on the Charlotte. Cohabited with Nathaniel Fowler, a convict, until her death.

HART, Frances - Convicted at the Old Bailey in 1783 of receiving stolen goods. Transferred to the Charlotte whilst the ship was in port at Rio. Married William Robinson in 1788 in Sydney Cove. William arrived as a convict on the Charlotte.

HAYNES, William - 1756-1801 Sydney. Convicted at the Old Bailey in 1783 of assault and theft of money. Married Hannah Green, in 1788,  who was also a convict on the Friendship.

HENLEY, Cooper- 1751-1788, Botany Bay - killed by natives. Convicted at Wiltshire in 1783 of assault and theft of money.

HERVEY, Elizabeth - 1757 Sussex - 1788 Sydney. Parents; Samuel and Ann Plum. Convicted at Bury St Edmonds in 1784 of break, enter and steal.  Transferred to the Charlotte.

HILL, Thomas - Convicted at Dorchester in 1783 of stealing a silver watch from a shop.

HOLMES, Susannah - 1764 Surlingham, Norfolk - 1825 Windsor. Parents: Joshua and Eunice Brooks. Convicted at Thetford in 1784 of stealing linen.  Married Henry Kable in 1788 at Sydney Cove. Henry also arrived on the Friendship as a convict. Henry and Susannah met whist in prison at Norwich, where there first child was born.

HUDSON, John - b1773c. Convicted in 1783 at the Old Bailey of break, enter and stealing from a house. When first arrested John was a nine year old chimney sweep and orphan. He was sent to Norfolk Island.

HUGHES, Thomas - 1761c - 1831 Sydney. Convicted in 1783 at the Old Bailey of horse theft.  Settled at Windsor.

HUSSEY, Samuel - 1756 Gloucester? -1808 Tasmania (committed suicide). Convicted in Oxford in 1784 of horse theft. Cohabited with Frances Hughes, a convict on the Prince of Wales.

JAMISON, James - Died 1788 Sydney. Convicted of theft in Maidstone in 1784.

JONES, Richard - Convicted at Shrewsbury,  in 1784 of stealing four bullocks.

JONES, Thomas - Convicted Bristol in 1784 of break and enter.

JONES, William - Convicted in 1784 at Shrewsbury of theft.

KABLE, Henry - Convicted in 1783 at Norfolk of break, enter and steal. Married Susannah Holmes, also a convict on the Friendship.

LAMBETH, John - 1763-1788. Parents: Ralph and Catherine. Occ: Blacksmith. Convicted in 1785 at Bristol of theft. 

LAVELL/LOVELL, Henry - Convicted in 1782 at the Old Bailey of Forgery and Counterfeit.  Confined in irons on Pinchgut Island, sent to Norfolk Island, returned to England.

LEARY, Jeremiah - 1765c - 1807 Norfolk Island. Convicted in 1784 at Bristol of break, enter and steal.

LEGROVE, Stephen - Convicted at the Old Bailey in 1784 of theft. Returned to England.

LLOYD, John - 1765-1811 Sydney. Convicted in 1784 at the Old Bailey for theft of a till and money. 

MACKEY, James - Convicted in 1783 at the Old Bailey for theft of two waistcoats. Cohabited with Elizabeth Steel, a convict on the Lady Juliana. Married Mary Page in 1810 at St Phillips, Sydney.

MASON, Elizabeth - Died 1840, Field of Mars. Convicted in Gloucester in 1785 for theft of purse containing 15 gold guineas.  Married Richard Hawkes in 1790 in Sydney. Richard arrived as a convict on the Alexander. Married Barrow Jackson in 1833 at Ryde.

McCORMACK, Mary - Convicted in Liverpool in 1784 for receiving stolen goods. Married William Parr in 1788 at Port Jackson. William arrived as a convict on the Alexander.

McCORMICK, Sarah - Convicted in 1786 at Manchester of theft of 2 pieces of gold.

McDEED, Richard - Convicted in 1783 at the Old Bailey of theft of 6 guineas. Sent to Norfolk Island.

McGRAH, Redman - Died 1788. Convicted at the Old Bailey in 1783 for break, enter and steal from a shop.

McNAMARA, William - Convicted of theft of a pair of knee buckles. Tried at Bristol in 1783.

MILLS, Matthew - 1763 Berkshire. Parents Tobias and Elizabeth. Convicted of highway robbery, at the Old Bailey in 1783.

MORLEY, Joseph - Convicted at Winchester in 1783 for assault and steal on King's highway. Married Mary Gosling in 1790 at Parramatta. Mary arrived on the Lady Juliana as a convict.

MURPHY, James - 1742 Devon - 1804 Norfolk Island. Convicted of highway robbery in Exeter in 1783. Cohabited with Susannah Pickett who arrived on the Lady Juliana as a convict.

NEAL, James - Convicted in Bristol in 1785 of theft.  Possible marriage to Charlotte Huxley in 1819??

OLDFIELD, Isabella - 1764 York - 1789 Sydney. Convicted in 1786 at Manchester of theft of cloth, along with her brother Thomas.

OLDFIELD, Thomas - Convicted in 1786 at Manchester of theft of cloth. Left the colony.

OWEN, Joseph - 1719-1790. Convicted in 1785 at Shrewsbury for receiving stolen goods.  Died of starvation.

PARKER, Elizabeth - 1764-1788 Port Jackson. Convicted in Gloucester Manchester of theft of cloth.  Married Edward Pugh in 1785 in Gloucestershire. Edward arrived as a convict on the Friendship.

PENNY, John - Died 1799 - Sydney. Convicted at the Old Bailey in 1784 of theft. Left a wife in England.

PERKINS, Edward - Convicted in 1785 at Plymouth of theft of a chicken. Married Mary Donavan in 1793 at Parramatta.

PETHERICK, John - Convicted in Plymouth in 1785 of theft of a pair of breeches. Settled at Parramatta.

PRITCHARD, Thomas - Convicted in 1783 at the Old Bailey of theft.

PUGH, Edward - Convicted at Gloucester in 1784 for stealing a greatcoat. Married Elizabeth Parker who arrived as a convict on the Friendship.

PULLEY, Elizabeth - 1762-1837 Castlereagh. Convicted at Thetford, Norfolk in 1783 of theft of food. Married Anthony Rope, a convict who arrived on the Alexander.

ROUS, William (Walton) - Died 1809. Convicted at the Old Bailey in 1783 of stealing seven sailors jackets.

RYAN, John - Convicted at the Old Bailey in 1784 of theft of clothing and a hat. Married Sarah Woolley, a convict who arrived on the Neptune. John and Sarah were married on Norfolk Island in 1791. They returned to Sydney and settled at Hawkesbury. Children: Elizabeth 1792(NI), Mary 1797, John 1798, Sarah 1800.

SIDAWAY, Robert - 1758 London - 1806 Sydney. Parents: John and Elizabeth Cook. Convicted in 1782 at the Old Bailey of theft. Cohabited with Mary Marshall, who arrived as a convict on the Lady Penrhyn. Robert opened the first theatre in the colony (Bligh Street). He settled in the Hawkesbury area.

SPENCE, John - Convicted at the Old Bailey in 1783 of stealing two canisters of tea.

STRETCH, Thomas - 1753-1819 Castlereagh. Convicted at Shrewsbury in 1783 of break, enter and steal. Sent to Norfolk Island, then Tasmania. Returned to Sydney and settled in the Liverpool area.

TAYLOR, Henry - 1754-1806 Norfolk Island. Convicted in 1784 at the Old bailey of theft. Married Hannah Hawkins on Norfolk Island.

TENHEL/DANIEL(S), John - Convicted at the Old Bailey in 1784 of  stealing 25 pounds of pepper and other goods.

THACKERY, Elizabeth - Died 1856 Tasmania. Convicted in 1786 at Manchester for steal 5 handerkerchiefs. Married Thomas Thackery in England. Cohabited with James Dodding, who arrived as a convict on the Friendship.  Married Samuel King in 1810 in Tasmania. Samuel arrived on the Sirius, as a member of the Royal Marines.

THODIE, James - 1760-1795 Sydney. Convicted in 1782 at the Old Bailey of stealing 2 silk gowns.

TUCKER, Moses - Convicted in 1786 at Plymouth of obtaining money under false pretences. Sent to Norfolk Island. Left Norfolk on a ship bound for Bengal.

TURNER, John - Convicted in Maidstone, Kent in 1783 of stealing a cask of beer.  Returned to England.

TURNER, Thomas - Died 1788 Port Jackson. Convicted at Oxford in 1782 of assault and steal on the King's Highway.

TWYFIELD, Roger - 1757 Shropshire - 1842 Windsor. Convicted in 1785 at Shrewsbury of break, enter and steal. Married Letitia Green in 1804 at Parramatta. Settled at Windsor.

WARE, Charlotte - 1762-1839 Campbelltown. Convicted at the Old Bailey in 1783 of stealing 5 pair of stockings.  Transferred to the Prince of Wales at the Cape of Good Hope. Cohabited with John Hayes, a Royal Marine on the Alexander. Settled at Airds.

WATKINS, Mary - Convicted in Glamorgan, Wales in 1786 of stealing clothing. Cohabited with Isaac Tarr on Norfolk Island. Isaac arrived as a Private with the Royal Marines, on the Sirius. Both returned to Sydney.

WISEHAMMER, John - Convicted in 1785 at Bristol of stealing snuff from a shop. Cohabited with Susannah Milledge, who arrived as a convict on the Lady Juliana. Settled on Norfolk Island, then both possibly returned to England.

WOOD, Mark - Convicted in 1783 at the Old Bailey of stealing ten coats. Left the colony.

WOODCOCK, Francis - Died 1788, Port Jackson. Convicted in 1784 at Shrewsbury of stealing a sheep.
