342. Raymond E Gilbert

Child Killed In Railway Yards
SYDNEY, Tuesday
Raymond Gilbert, aged 7, of Lidcombe, was rum down by a ram truck in the Lidcombe railway yards to-night and was killed. Gilbert was playing among the trucks with a number of children when one of them released the brakes on of them allowing the whole of the line of trucks to move forward. Taken completely unaware, the lad fell beneath the truck as it gathered speed and the wheels passed directly over him.  The trucks moved rapidly down the slope but came to rest against the rail without sustaining any serious damage.
