776. Ina Mavis Shields
Miss lna Shields, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. C. Shields, and a descendant of one of the pioneering families of Carlingford, was married at St.. Paul's Church, Carlingford, last Saturday to .Corporal John Meehan, youngest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Meehan, of St. Peter's. Rev. R. Johnstone officiated. - White lace over satin, made with a train was worn by the bride, and her embroidered tulle veil was held in place with a coronet of pearls. Carnations, hyacinths, and lilies were carried. The bridesmaids, Misses Marie Shields and Laurel Meehan, wore blue net over, taffeta with matching tulle veils and top-knots of red roses. Their bouquets were of red camellias and sweet peas. The bridegroom was attended by Messrs. Stuart Franks and Neville Bellamy ..: Receiving sixty guests at the Waratah Cafe, the bride's mother wore a navy beaded, frock with a small matching hat trimmed with an emerald mount. A powder blue frock with: navy accessories was worn by the bride when leaving for the honeymoon, which will be spent at Kempsey.
