619. Sidney James Alexander Chalker

OBITUARY MR SIDNEY CHALKER Mr. Sidney Chalker, of Kingsdale, who died, at the District Hospital on May 25, was born at Kingsdale. 63 years ago and spent practically all of his life there. He was a great lover of horses and owned and trained many trotting horses. Of at generous nature, he did much in organising functions to assist the soldiers of the district during the war. He was held in the highest regard by a wide circle of friends. He is survived by his wife, one son Jack (Kingsdale) and a daughter Eileen (Mrs. W. Carr, Baw Baw) and five brothers, Charles (Goulburn), Hugh (Wollongong), Harold (Goulburn), Donald (Yarra), Herbert (Griffith); and two sisters, Esther (Mrs. P. Speer, Woodhouselee), and Daisy (Mrs. D. Gale,.Goulburn). Three brothers predeceased him. After a service at St, Saviour's Cathedral, conducted by Dean King, the funeral left for the Church of England portion of the cemetery.

MAN CRUSHED
NEWCASTLE, Monday.— David James Chalker, 47, of Addison Road, New Lambton, was killed at the B.H.P. steelworks to-day when he was crushed between two coal trucks.
